My name is Stieneke van der Graaf and I am currently running for a seat in the National Parliament. Since 2007 I am a Regional MP in the Province of Groningen (Northern part of the Netherlands, on the border with Germany), as of 2013 as leader of my parliamentary group.
I work as a Legal Counsel for a company focussing on financial inclusion solutions for SMEs in developing countries and emerging markets. I am a board member of the European Christian Political Movement, a European political party based on Christian Democratic principles, and board member of Verre Naasten, an ngo with the mission sharing faith worldwide.
My political work can be charactarized by themes like justice, sustainability and international cooperation.
I have an academic background in International and European Law (University of Groningen) and I was a postgraduate at the Clingendael Institute, the Netherlands Institute for International Relations in The Hague. I have gained my International experience amongst others at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. I am married and live together with my husband in the city of Groningen.
